Sometimes even teachers get bullied.  What a nice thing for a group of students to do.

Wadded up paper

A teacher in New York was teaching her class about bullying and gave them the following exercise to perform. She had the children take a piece of paper and told them to crumple it up, stomp on it and really mess it up, but do not rip it. Then she had them unfold the paper, smooth it out and look at how scarred and dirty it was. She then told them to tell it they’re sorry. Now even though they said they were sorry and tried to fix the paper, she pointed out all the scars they left behind. That those scars will never go away no matter how hard they tried to fix it. That is what happens when a person bullies another another, they may say they’re sorry but the scars are there forever. The looks on the faces of the children in the classroom told her the message hit home.

Please do not leave wrinkles on another person's soul.  If you are being bullied this is a very good way to show other's what is happening to you.

You can control bullies

This weekend I had to deal with a herd of bullies, actually they were steers with horns.  They snorted at me, charged me, ran around me, and yelled.  What I found out was that if I stood my ground and didn't let them bother me they went away.  I also discovered that I could make them leave if I wanted them too.  In fact if I gave the right signals I could have them running circles and changing directions!

I also discovered it was so much easier when a friend helped me deal with them. 
So I know that you too can deal with the bullies in your life.  Remember to ask for help if you need it.

Humans could learn a lot from the herd...

Humans could learn a lot from horses about how

to deal with bullies, here are some examples:

• A horse decides to bully another smaller horse, a larger horse steps up to protect the small horse and tells the bully horse to leave.
• A horse decides it doesn't want to talk to another horses there is always another horse in the herd who will talk to them.
• All the horses listen to the horse in charge, if they don't they have to go stand in time out until they can be better listeners.
• Horses always watch out for each other.  If a horse lays down to take a nap another horse stands guard over it.
• Horses forgive those that hurt their feelings.
• Horses don't listen to what other horses think about what they are wearing.
• Horses love unconditionally
• Once a horse is your friend, it will always be your friend.
• Horses don't stay angry very long.
• Best of all horses don't care how old you are, how fat or thin you are, what color you are, how much money you have, or how fancy your car is.  We only care about if you are honest with us and treat us with kindness.

Wow, learning some of those lessons would make it a lot better for humans.

How different would the world be if we all decided to extend one kind act to one person everyday?

Three main triggers for bullies.

As long as any of these exist there will always be bullying.  Take a stand when you see these and speak up to stop them!
